Message from Mia Jorgensen, EVP. On behalf of the officers at CWA Local 1104/GSEU, I would like to welcome you to the beginning of a new academic year. The year begins with a celebration on Monday, a holiday that organized labor invented called Labor Day. This Labor Day our Union celebrates a recent win. For the first time in ten years five people with a Democratic majority have been appointed to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). The NLRB is responsible for investigating unfair labor practices and supervising union elections.
