Students at the University of Albany organized a historic walk out on January 27th to protest budget cuts and the Administration's undemocratic decision to "deactivate" five departments. There was a huge turnout, excellent media coverage, and we have not heard of any negative fall-out or disciplinary issues. It was a beautiful thing to see dozens of students who came up and gave moving testimonials about how deactivation, tuition increases, and cuts to SUNY have affected their lives.
